History In 1996, Chattanooga Junior Golfers’ Development Program (a Not-for- Profit 501(c) 3, EIN 62-1627453) and Chattanooga Urban Youth Golf Program were created to introduce Golf to children who would not ordinarily have the opportunity to learn or to play golf. In the fall of 1999 the two programs merged and became a chapter of The First Tee on August 7, 2000. We are now The First Tee of Chattanooga. |

Today As a chapter of The First Tee, we have blended the Life Skills curriculum into our golf programs to offer The First Tee Experience. Approximately 320 children from all economic and racial backgrounds from the Greater Chattanooga area in Tennessee, north Georgia and Alabama participate in our core programs. We are very fortunate to have the support of the area golf courses which either donate space or give us a reduced rate to use their facilities. Phase I of The Player Development Complex is open and we will be olding programs there beginning in January 2010. Please see the Programs Section for more information.. |

Tomorrow We have begun construction of The Player Development Complex. Out goal is to complete the complex in order to provide a learning environment where our Players (children in our programs) can develop as golfers and will be able to participant in The First Tee Life Skills Experience while learning to play golf.
Our participants will be provided affordable access to instruction through our programs and affordable access to play and practice golf throughout the year.
